Competition for Shakespeare 400 opens today

Our team of library assistants worked really hard yesterday to prepare the Shakespeare Display ready for our competition which opens today!

IMG_0827The cabinet displaying the competition props has been installed at Bury Library but other libraries across the Borough will be joining in: Topping Fold; Whitefield; Prestwich and Tottington will be displaying images of the items and will have postcards and bookmarks to hand out.

IMG_0823We couldn’t help be intrigued by all the props and before we put them behind glass we acted out a few dramatic poses to get us (and hopefully you) in the mood for celebrating Shakespeare’s life and works.IMG_0816

Together with the competition, we have some fabulous Shakespeare books for you to borrow and a variety of DVDs for hire: the new adaptation of Macbeth starring Michael Fassbender is, we think, completely engrossing!
